PIPI Pathways Raglan aims to promote physical activity within our community and empower our children and their families to engage with the ocean confidently and safely. Apply now and be part of this exciting journey.

Eligibility Criteria for FREE Lesson

  • Must be a New Zealand Resident or Citizen.

  • Must be living in the Waikato Region.

Event Details

What: PIPI Surf Aotearoa offers an exciting opportunity for families and friends from the Waikato region to learn surfing and ocean etiquette and water safety.

When: Every Sunday, starting from 3rd December 2023, conditions permitting until we have completed 5 water sessions.

On Sundays that the waves are not safe we will have other activities available (Surf Skating, Paddle Boarding, Waka, Kickboxing training and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu).

Where: Ngarunui Beach, Raglan Pump Track.

Who: Families will be under the guidance of surfing champion Daniel Kereopa, certified surf coaches, and local surf enthusiasts.

Registration Process

  • Complete an individual application for each person interested in surfing.

  • Upon registration, and confirmation of eligibility, if you’ve indicated attending a single lesson you’ll receive a confirmation email to attend a surf lesson with us at our PIPI Pathways Raglan Programme.

  • Indicate your interest in the entire program on the registration form, and we will contact you with further details.

Pricing

  • Participants can register for a single lesson with us over the duration of the programme for FREE

  • Families with community services cards (CSC) can join the full program for FREE. Email a copy of your CSC and proof of address to pipisurfmate@gmail.com and complete an individual registration form for each family member who will be participating.

  • Families without community services cards, who wish to participate in the full programme can still join however the cost will be $100.00 per child (under 18).

  • All parents/caregivers are welcome to join there children in the water for FREE

Schedule

  • Surfing lessons are subject to weather and surf forecasts. A maximum of 2 x 90-minute lessons will be held each day, with a maximum of 40 participants per lesson.

  • When appropriate lessons are divided into age groups: tamariki (5-9 years), rangatahi (10-15 years),

  • We may also run Whanau lessons if lesson windows are too small or any other reason we see fit.

  • Lesson times will be emailed and posted weekly on the PIPI Pathways Group on Facebook.

  • All participants who register can attend one free surfing lesson; wetsuits and equipment will be provided.

If you want to overcome fear, and are looking for a healthy, community-oriented activity with top-notch coaches for you and your whanau, we welcome you to join us! This kaupapa is for everyone, if you are also keen to volunteer get in touch.
